Tukay had a very firm character… He did not belittle his self-reverence, did not lose his pride, and amour-propre. He did not curried flavour with wealthy people.
Tukay wrote very well from the very beginning. His poems written in the old dialect reflected reality in a humorous way. Tukay laid the solid foundation for our dear language.
