Birde Kerbabaev, Turkmen poet.
At the beginning of the XXth century the culture of the Tatar nation was much developed than the culture of people of Central Asia. That time the Tatar culture had good influence on the Kazakhs, Uzbeks, and Turkmen. As early as before the Revolution the Tatar nation gave the world quite a lot of famous individuals. I would like to point out, first of all, Gabdulla Tukay and Galimzhan Ibragimov among them. Even before I took a pen, I had read a lot of exciting, deeply inspiring works of Tukay. Having read novels and stories of G.Ibragimov, I understood realities and features of prose works well.
I believe that Tukay and Ibragimov are my teachers.
Having a desire to do my duty towards Gabdulla Tukay, I have translated about two thousand lines of his poems into the Turkmen language.
