Khasan Tufan (1900-1981), Poet, Gabdulla Tukay TASSR State Prize laureate (1966):
How short his life was! Yet what a great legendary event his short life has become! He was a real son of his nation: it handed the talented orphan from the very beginning of his life while the native land grew him up straining to its heart. Gathering all the spiritual wealth of his nation, he learned about how to live in this world in a very short period of time and, being a well-read boy, entered the creative arena. Beginning with his first steps, the nation admitted him as its defender and spiritual representative. There were a lot of poets who entered the literature at the same time as Tukay did. However, Tukay did everything in his power to change usual way of life, participating in it with ever-growing inspiration, and finally achieved the highest results. Active involvement in the process of life changing helps him completely understand the world, nature, and the infinite spiritual beauty of the nation. Knowing well all the difficulty of the mission, incumbent on him, Tukay brilliantly carried it out.
Tukay is deep like an ocean; he is a voluminous and complicated poet. Though, we have not learned him till the end yet.
