Articles about Tatar writers, their works and life journey, began to be published in the foreign press even before the beginning of the revolution. “The Russian Review” (1914, #1), for example, published a potted biography of Gabdulla Tukay and his poem “Pair of Horses”, translated into the English language. Some of G.Tukay’s poems saw the light in “The Turkic House” (1913, #6), published in Istanbul. The same magazine published several articles about F.Amirkhan.

The Tatar literature began to be translated into the languages of the nations related to the republic, including the Russian language. The Tatar writers, whose works were translated into the Russian, as a result, became known abroad.

Some of G.Tukay’s poems were printed in the book of G.Vail “Tatarische Texte”, published in Berlin and Leipzig in 1930. In 1921, the first number of “Archivum” magazine included an article called “G.Tukay and contemporary Tatar poets”.
Before the beginning of the Great Patriotic War and after its end, Gabdulla Tukay’s works were published several times in the Uigur language for the Uigurs, who lived in China.
